So I have had an intermittent issue with my 94 LS over heating and proceeded to replace both the radiator and the thermostat. Now that solved the problem for a while, but a few weeks ago I ran to the local cycle shop to get new plugs for my motorcycle. On that fateful day the Monty started overheating like I was driving on the sun. About a mile from home she died, after letting her cool down and adding water she limped her sorry arse home. After adding more water at home I realized that any water I add just rolls out the back of the engine. I can't see exactly where it come from as the damned engineers didn't think that anyone wants to actually work on these things. So, short of taking off the top of the engine (intake manifold and all the other crap on top) does anyone have an idea what the problem could be? My oil is the proper color, albeit leaking a bit, but there is no milky color to the oil.

Help me Obi-wan Kenobi, you're my only hope....or something like that.

Either your heater hoses between the firewall and your engine, or the tube/o-ring on the back of your water pump are done are my guesses.

Or the o-ring on that aluminum pipe in the V, under your... yup, you guessed it... intake manifold! If its gushing that fast though, I'd suspect heater hoses first, as Ray said.

Yup, that's the one I'm talking about. It attaches to the back of the water pump. The orig seal it uses can go bad.

Cool, thanks for the help. I'll have to dig into it and see what the issue exactly is.

had a crack in the one of the water hoses going to the Throttle Body myself. I couldn't see were it was comming from, it just looked like there was just alot of water spraying out the back of the engine.

Well the o-ring was a little flat, but it turned out to be the water pump...after tearing the engine down to get to it I'd like to punch the engineer that designed this. Hopefully a new water pump will solve this issue, might as well change the timing belt while I'm here too...

I just did that waterpump job on one of my 3.0 a few weeks ago. Job went nice on the mitsu and there are no real "bolt impossibles" on the 3.0 waterpump job, come work on my isuzu diesel a while... you'll really be cursing someone for bolt placement compared to the mitsus. Plenty of bolts that take 10 minutes or more to get turned enough to come in or out. I love workin on my mitsu so long as i remember to look over at the trooper <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" />
