Does it make sense to you what the dealer diagnosed for Diesels oil spraying problem? What do you think it really is?

If it is a stripped out spark plug, would you charge $3500 to fix it? Where would all that oil come from if it is just a stripped out spark plug?

On another note, would you put 17 new tires on a out or round wheel expecting it to make the wheel round? Reading your excellent posts I really doubt you would. That is the very best the local dealer here could come up with as well as Toyota Technical in Glen Burnie MD. Arbitration was a real hoot. I spanked thier ass....

Anyway help this guy out and give him your thoughts on his problem.

By that picture alone I do not have enough information to create a diagnosis. It resembles nothing I have seen so far. I agree the spark plug thing seems a bit out of wack.

If the plug underneath the coil is loosen, the plug will get over heated, the ceramic part will spin loose . the combustion smoke will burn the coil also. I saw this my self. all you need retap the plug hole, replace the coil and new plug., But this pix could not help any one to diagnosis any thing. the pix is not very clear enough to tell the PCV vavle was off its gromet. If the PCV valve could popped off, I think the rear main seal down pour oil and cam seals will leak like you are urinating. Need more pix to tell. Hell I would not diagnose any thing on that pix.

Everything is fine now. Luckily my girlfriend's dad has his own shop. His friend towed my truck from the STEALER tues morning. Her dad retapped the hole, installed a new plug that I gave him, and as of today it's all done. I haven't picked it up but he says it runs fine now. He said that the electrode broke off. As for the oil, can oil come out of the head?
