It's pretty much the norm on the early V5MT1 to be "slow" shifting from 1st to 2nd. Thats the nature of the beast- just shift out of 1st count 123 and then slide it in 2nd. All of the revisions thru model "3" have been attemps to improve synchros methods. At this point I'm thinking your better with the one you(we) have got,,,,it's just a primative, H.D. trans and count your blessings on its relative simplicities.
I used the LSD additive with Stalube 80 wt but not with the Redline.
