The issues that I have with the truck, in particular are the wheelbase/huge turning circle/doesn't corner to my liking/can't drive it with my work boots on because the sole doesn't fit between the brake pedal and tunnel cover. Other than that, I simply prefer my Raider, and after 14 months not driving it...missing her. Also, I don't like the rectangular headlights.

In the MM pro case, with the turbo spooled and trans is in second/third, she produces fantastic brodies and rooster tails when driving stupid in our center pasture. Our GMC crew cab not so much by comparison. Pearl is a fine highway truck, but needs the 4.n Montero gears to be more fun. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I concur, mostly. With the 3.919's the truck was a little slow even with the turbo. Cab was cramped. Footwell was tight. Mine cornered like on rails (85 model). Hated the rectangle headlights. No room for "stuff" inside out of the weather. Too much rear overhang. Insufficient suspension travel.

I drove a much newer Mighty Max for work for a year or so and hated it. Had to have 3 acres to turn that damn thing around and the rear end had a mind of its own in a corner. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/barf.gif" alt="" />

You'll probably be much happier in a turbo Raider.

The sliders from a Gen I 4-door (wheel well to wheel well) still need about 18" to go on Pearl, as she is an extended cab. Still, haven't finalized my plan.

Thanks for that. I had mine in Guam - speed limit 35mph. It was great for what I needed. Don't remember the turning radius. I've seen a couple of Gen1 extended cabs here in OZ. I imagine they would be even worse. Another fantasy dashed.
