I'm on my fourth one in 21+ years. Cracked windshields just seem to be a hazard of having such a flat-fronted vehicle. I've always paid a glass company for a new one; the windshield just seems too important to take any risks with. I think I paid around $300 for a new one last summer. Prior to that, I had comprehensive insurance, so I think the deduct was around $100.

Oh yeah, I got a crack in the new one on the highway after about a week <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />
