Getting the Wheeling Fever
I ordered a keyfob off of ebay, could not get it to pair with my trucks keyless control module next to the rear right speaker. Seller claims there are three type of them ,and the key fob they have sent was tested and works good.
Can anybody with a 96SR post a picture and/or FCC ID # on their factory keyfob here?

Thanks!

I have 95 sr. and apparently it has aftermarket dealer installed module on it...? The original fob has mitsu sign on it and is falling apart. I got several fobs I ordered online- None of them worked. I was told to go to local car electronics shop or key smith which will cost more and haven't done it yet.It may be that the 96 has same issue.

Yea, if it comes to Mitsu dealer they will charge upwards of $100, with that I can get a really nice after market with engine start for those freezing winter days.

Grasscat replaced the OE fob on his with an ebay unit. IIRC the receiver module which I believe has the FCC ID is slightly above and behind the passenger wheel well but check the FSM before you start removing body panels.

I went through that in fact the panel is still not put back together, the fob just doesn't seem to register with the car unit. I went through this whole thing with the ebay seller, they claimed the unit has been tested... AND apparently there are two types of fobs.
I dont know if the keyless entry units in the Montys go bad, but I think it would be safer to just spend the money on an after market system.
