The overheat sensor on the intake might be resposible for no OD and no AC.

FWIW I've had good luck with 134. I dumped a can of 134 on top of 12 once, and it worked GREAT!! I've converted systems with a fitting before. No flush, nothing. Theyve worked fine.
As long as you have no leaks in the system, and can get high pressure, and low pressure, you're good to go.

I evacuated the R-12. Then put in 85% of the R-12 weight of 134-a. Got the kit from advance.I didn't change anything... The A/C has been operating normally for 3 yrs now.39 degree air on max & recirculate.I did pull a vacuum twice before installing the 134-a.Just my 2 cents. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" />
On a separate note..cheesegrater..take a Valium.

On a separate note..cheesegrater..take a Valium. A good approach... That and add a lubricant designed to work with R134.

Well Dang it. All the success stories had me pumped up and ready to take my ice cold AC blowing raider cross country. Then I finally got around to checking it today. NO cold air. No pressure left in the system. I guess the leak is a major one wherever it is. I tried dumping in another bottle of 134. It will hold pressure and kinda cool for a while idling then as soon as you speed up the motor a little bit it dumps pressure immediately. Could not see the leak wherever it is, but something tells me it will not be worth fixing when I do find it.
Oh well no cold air for me looks like. Got to get used to sweating when I take it for a ride this summer.

FWIW, you can get refrigerant with UV dye in it, so at least when it leaks out, you'll be able to spot where it's coming from.

OK AC experts. I went for it and dumped the super seal stuff from WalMart. Now I have a very interesting scenario with the AC. After the super seal I charged it and tried to see if it was cooling. My low pressure side shot up to about 150+ PSI and would not come down. Tried to run it down the road to see if it was because of the lack of fan running. No cool and the compressor got very Hot. Not knowing what to do I dumped the pressure on the low side to about 5 PSI by hand. Since I had a partial 20 OZ can of 134 left this last weekend I said what WTH and dumped it back in to see what would happen. It took the charge this time but still no cool and the low pressure side does go down to about 30-35 psi. The interesting part is I can feel the cooling of some of the lines running from front to the cab. I think is actually the wrong line that is getting cold. The non-insulated line that comes from under the battery to the condenser I thought was the hot line and the insulated one was the cold line. Currently when you start the compressor that is reversed. The non-insulated line gets very cold. The other one nothing. Pressure on the low side always starts very high then comes down after you start the compressor.
Anyway the compressor is doing something if there is some cooling occurring. Just not in the cab where I want it. Anyone seen this before and can tell me whats going on?
