Unless someone's already done the plugs and left the plastic plug covers off, you'll also need to remove the intake to remove the covers before you can access the plugs. That said, you may want to buy an intake manifold gasket just in case. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" /> Please stop saying this. You don't need to remove the intake to get at the plugs. You will need an assortment of wobbles and extensions for your ratchet. All the little brackets and throttle body need to be moved out of the way. The covers unbolt and slide out. All the little brackets and throttle body need to be moved out of the way. However you will need to remove it (upper intake) if you are changing the wires since they route behind the engine.

LOL My wires do not route the same. I did my plugs and wires with removing Throttle body or intake. Just all the covers and LIl brackets. But justice is right (asa I said above no need for intake removal.

So 2 pressing questions im really hoping someone can answer
1) do sparkplugs need to be insalled all at once or can i install them 3 at a time?
2)do the coils (after unscrewing the bolts) just lift out of the spark plug?

Thanks for all the responses I suppose you could do 3 at a time, just not sure why you would want to..time? The coil packs just pull off. Be careful not to damage the boot.

I have a friend who is gonna help me do the plugs and wires but not till August, so i want to get a jump on things and the drivers side looks like something i can handle alone im sorry for being so ignorant but what do you mean by "be careful not to damage the boot"?

There are only three spark plug wires. The driver's side plugs sit under the coils and have a boot on them that connects coil to plug. The spark plug wires connect to the coils and connect the passenger side spark plugs.
After you take out the two little bolts per coil, they basically just lift off, but you may have to twist them slightly. The boot extends down into the spark plug well a couple of inches.

So I finally have everything i need in hand i believe, im gonna do the Driver side by myself. Heres what i bought
1)NGK Iridium plugs
2)NGK wires
3)antiseize lube
4)wobble socket extensions
5)spark plug socket
The funny thing is i was just about to try and do this with a hot engine, and then i found out NOT to do this, wait till the engine is cold.
EDIT: so it looks like my NGKs were properly gapped already, the owners manual says .39-.43?
