Quick update:
Spent some more time poking around the front end with a big pry bar. Did not find much movement anywhere. The u-joints where solid and the truck does not has auto hubs. Could be idler and pitman arms.
Lubed up everything I could find with WD 40 and the front end quieted down. Did some wheeling last weekend and only had clunking going over larger obstacles.
At this point planning on retiring the truck. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> We've had a good run but it was hit in the front end and has never been the same. It eats tires and can't get it aligned. The last shop suggested taking it to a frame-shop.
