History,

I have an 18 year old T100 V6 manual trans 4WD. It has the ADD (which has never worked properly). It's time for a new truck but, every full size truck is automatic trans only. I don't want and automatic transmission.

The standard cab 4WD Tacoma is available with a 4 cylinder 5 speed manual.

Questions:

Does this Tacoma 4WD still have some kind of ADD setup or is the front end always locked with the differential gears and shafts turning. My next step will be to go to the dealer and crawl under the truck and try to spin the shafts and see what moves. I want to know as much as much as possible before I go to the dealer.

Are Free hubs available for this Tacoma?

The Tacoma is too small but it's all there is with a 5 speed manual trans. The new 6 speed manual is only available on the 4 door and extend cab models. The be is too short on those trucks.

I really want the Tundra with a V6 and the 6 speed manuals but it's not available. I can't be the only one who wants this configuration.
