I remember way back when, there were lots of threads on here about head gasket issues with the 3.0 V6.
Has anyone done the change? We are in the midst of doing our old 4Runner and I am wondering what should be changed and what is good to re-use.
I recall folks saying that the knock sensor, or at least th wiring harness to it was a good thing to change out as it is hard to get to and disturbing the wiring seems to cause troubles with it.
I am wondering about the head bolts. Are they ok to re-use or should we bite the bullet and get new ones?
Going to do the timing belt as it is time now anyway and I guess the water pump since it is easy to do now.
Is there anything else you would do while it is apart?
