I thought about what you wrote last night and I wanted to show you some pictures because something isn't jive'n.

This first photo is a repost of the one earlier but I rotated it so its right-side-up. The second photo is to verify that I have th 6G72 engine you mentioned. The third photo is a photo of my repair manual showing the propper orientation of the gasket.

My gasket and the manual match up, but I think there might be something wierd about my block configuration. Does anyone else know about this?
