It did happen to me a month ago. Problem was the "tickler" wire came off the battery isolator so the alternator was not producing any power. As soon as I hooked it up, they both went off and everything went back to normal. Maybe your wire that signals that your alternator is bad has an open or short in it...don't know which one causes the light to come on. Just a thought.
