Yes, that must be the ABS ring. Looks different than my 98, but if you pop that off you should see the nuts.

Oh that sucks! But on the bright side you already got the rotors off the hubs, which is awesome. So jealous of your oregonian lack of road salt! You'll fly through the rest of the job once you get the right parts.

So what the heck is this thing that goes on the back of the rotor and attaches with 2 screws??? http://tinypic.com/r/2yvtjqt/6The writeups that were linked in here, none of them mention this part, and the FSM calls it the "rotor" I called autozone to get some rotors and the ones that they had for my 95SR did not have those extra 2 screw holes on the back of the rotor, nor did the napa ones have them either (looking at the pics on their website)

That notched thing is called the "tone ring", and is part of the abs system wheel speed sensor.

I'm seeing plenty of holes in this pic: autozone Lots of the photos on rockauto show the extra holes too. Not sure if you have advance auto parts out west, but they usually have some pretty killer coupon deals if you order online and pickup in store.

The 4 smaller holes go all the way through, and should be threaded to receive your ABS ring bolts. You'll only need to use 2 of the holes of course. The back side won't look 100% identical to your old rotors, but the holes should line up fine. You got wrong parts the first time, but that was just a fluke. Try not to overthink it. here's a better set of pics
