Ok, just got back from Napa with a new Coolant Temperature Sensor and a new Thermostat. Unfortunently none of the 2 things fixed the high idle problem.

So, any other suggestions? Thanks again!

Get some carb cleaner or starting fluid. Spray it around the area of the intake plenumn. If you have a change in idle speed wen you spray, you have a vacuum leak somewhere. If so, use spray to isolate exact area if you can.

Pay close attention to the area between upper and lower intake. Also, ensure you have no cracked or loose hoses to your intake. Check the hose on the bottom of the plastic intake tube after the air filter and before the throttle body. Check fit of hose that goes to power brake booster. Report back what you find.

How's the break pedal feel? I fixed a pretty major leak by putting in a new brake booster vacuum hose. and I didn't even know it was leaking!

Geocrasher...

Is #3 in the photo the vacuum line your talking about?

[Linked Image]

When I first got the Raider and was driving it home I had to slam on the brakes on the Highway and didn't like how the brakes felt... Almost felt like I need to stomp on the brakes as hard as I could. I dont know, maybe you might be on to something.

Yep that be the one :-)

I didn't like how the brakes felt on mine either and sometimes the boost didn't feel right, so on a whim I replaced it. Gained 2mpg and the brake felt better. Not LOTS mind you but enough. Oh, almost forgot- the old hose, probably the original one, LOOKED perfect.. it cost me just a few bucks for the hose- I want to say it was 9 or 10mm hose at the store.

lol...I just took a flash light outside and was looking at the hose thinking... hmmmm, it looks perfect.

I'll pick one up tomorrow and try that, thanks!

They tend to fail at the intake end - delaminate and crack, causing a leak. 2.6 is worse, as the vac tap is right next to the head.

Ok, I sprayed all around and it didnt do nothing...damn. So I changed the Brake Booster Vacuum Hose, nothing.

Is there any chance that I need a head job or something like that?

What else do you guys recommend I do? Thanks!

Have you closed down the air bypass screw? Also the idle stop screw?

There are two idle speed control circuits in the TB. One is a wax pellet FIDLE valve that is not replaceable and has been known to fail. I know you said you replaced the TB, but with a new or used one? I'd pull the TB and see if after you warm it up some if the secondary fidle valve closes. Use a hair dryer to heat it up.
