Without reading all these posts, did anybody say anything about the choke on the carb?

Couldn't the choke be bad or out of adjustment?

If it were carbureted, that might be an issue. This is a fuel injected vehicle.

Just so everybody knows... I still have a fast idle. I read what dave had to say about opening up the throttle body and making a gasket, but since I've replaced the whole throttle body once before I'm guessing thats not my problem. So today I got some one coming over to help me replace the Intake Manifold Gasket and the PCV Valve. While were at it we are also going to replace the valve cover gaskets and changed out the valve stem seals. Any Advice?

Just thought I'd bring this post back into the light, hopefully we'll get this idle thing figured out. Thanks to everyone who posted trying offer help, thanks!

I think you have 2 TBs with the same defect,,,The Auxilery Air Valve,,,thermostat wax pellet controlled gizzmo.
I Emailed you how to very carefully take it apart and boil the bottom in a pan and see if the valve closes...Did you do that?????
If your friend can carefully stick it in a vice ,,padded with a couple pieces of wood,,,.Remove TPS and ICS to prevent vibration damage.
Soak phillips screws overnight with P Blaster or AT Acetone(be careful it will explode).
Use a ""new sharp high quality phillips screwdriver"" ,,press down firmly and lighly tap the screwdriver with a hammer with slight turning pressure,,,to pop the ""delicate"" phillips screws out.
If they don't pop easily, heat ,briefly, the screw heads with propane touch.
.
If you can't do this mail me the TB and I'll do it for you.

You might be right Dave. I tried to take apart my old TB but being such a rookie I had no luck...and might have stripped a screw head. lol...anyway. My mechanic friend was a no call no show but he's suppost to be over here today sometime...I hope. lol If he makes it over here I'll let you know what kind of progress we make...if my idle is not fixed by changing the intake manifold gasket and the pcv valve, I wont know what else to do beside try another throttle body and maybe send the computer in to be repair/looked at.

Ok everybody...I just finished installing the new intake manifold gaskets, valve cover gasket, pcv valve and hose. Got everything back together, last step was plugging the fuel pump back in. I cant get it to start, and with my lack of experience I didnt wanna keep holding down the gas pedal waiting for the gas to build up...because I dont know if it will do that anyway... do I need to pressurize the system or something? Also, I had to take the distributor off and I tried to put it back on exactly like it came off, but do i need to do something with a timing light now? Please let me know what you all think, thanks!

Get some starting fluid ..Give at a quick shot..(Not half the can ..!..)...If the sparks in the "right" place the motor will start up then die ...That way you will know if its fuel or spark that is off..

Thanks for the suggestion. Today I took out the radiator so I can get down into the crankshaft pulley bolt. I also wanted to try to get it TDC and double check the distributor. So i took out the number 1 spark plug after getting the mark on the crankshaft pulley lined up with the T on the timing thing. Should I have put it in between the to 10's? which one is TDC the T or inbetween the 2 10's? I have no clue. I tried both. Each time taking off the distributor cap and then pulling out the distributor and lining the metal spark part with where the number 1 spark plug wire is on the cap. Both times I tried this and it didnt start. when i pulled the spark plug it seemed like there was gas on it. Am I flooding my engine? I also was smelling gas when trying to start it. And when you just turn the key to hear the fuel pump I hear almost a gargle type of sound coming from the engine area, i think by the fuel lines. Any help would be beautiful, thanks!
