Getting the Wheeling Fever
I'm I crazy? I'm connecting the grease gun up to the zerk fittings on the front universal joints, and it apears that they are "smaller" than a standard zerk fitting. Is this a small size, and if so, is there perhaps an adapter that would allow the standard fitting on a grease gun to work on these zerk fittings?

If so, does anyone have a source or part number for such a thing?

It appears as if all the grease is pushing around the zerk fitting instead of going into the universal joint. But maybe it is just me.

Good luck...

I search far and wide for that imaginary tool, doesn't exist.

So, I waited until they failed and got a new drive shaft and U-Joints for $155. These new U-Joints have the zerks on the outside. It's awesome.

I don't think the zerk is smaller just the space to fit the grease gun. I filed the end of my grease gun to fit better.
hope that helps, Dennis

There apears to be ample room for the grease gun fitting, it just doesn't seem to "lock" onto the zerk fitting.

Curiouser and curiouser. Thanks.

That sometimes happens with greasing fittings. you can replace the zerk fitting with a new one. It's usually an 7 or 8mm or 1/4" socket to remove the old one. ask parts store if they sell them first cause i've never bought them from a parts store. I always take them off used axles at the shop i work at and save them for such occasions as this.

Cool, thanks. I'll try that.
