They will match as far as bolting in. I meant match is color. The 87 has the long and tall 3x7 or whatever speaker spots. The 88+ are more like 4x6. Arguably easier to mount in your doors, but if you didn't want to do that, the 87 can be retro'd with a later dash.


If you mount speakers in doors, be careful about the depth/size magnet you install since it can easily interfere with the window.
