To all Raider owners do you have a good bit of play in your steering components such as the tie rods or upper and lower control arms, I have changed out the upper control arms and still when I get on a rough road the front end sounds terrible, knocking and bumping like something about to come loose, I also changed out the idler arm and still I have this condition. I have a very small amount of play in both front wheel bearings but this just does not seem to be enough to cause this much knocking. The reason I ask if you all have had this condition is because I have a 87 & 88 and both have this same knocking in the front end when I get on rough terrain. If any of you have had this condition let me know what you did to correct or help it. I'm wondering if its just the design on the front end.....thanks for any ones advice

You make no mention of checking the shock absorber or sway bar bushings.

New shocks, but my right sway bar bushing does have a little tear in it but does not seem bad enough to make the noise I'm hearing, I'll replace it with one off the 88 and see... I'm thinking about replacing all the tie rod ends and see if that will tighten it up..

Also I recall where someone mentioned there being an adjustment on the steering pump to tighten it up. Anyone recall if this is the case?
