I had a dealer installed alarm on my 2000 Tundra I bought new from the dealer. About 6-7 years ago the FOB's all quit working and got corroded battery's in them. They became useless. So I just started to lock it manually. Although the alarm system had a tendency to go off on it's own. It always picked the MOST inopportune time to do it as well. The only way to crank it was a combination of pushing the button locking the doors unlocking them and a series of on off key moves. Eventually you would get it to crank if you kept screwing with it.

Finally one night after Atlanta Supercross it went off in the parking lot outside the arena. Horn Blowing lights flashing going crazy I tried every combination I though possible to get her to crank to no avail. The parking guys at the lot came by a couple times and asked me if they could help. I told them maybe a battery in one of the old FOB's I had would do it if we could find one. So off they went trying to find one. Came back about 45 min later with a couple batteries that did not work. It was getting late now and most everyone had cleared out of the parking lots. So one of them says I can take you to a walgreens that sells batteries maybe they have one that fits(nicest guys ever). So we leave out to Walgreens no battery that matches. Now we go back to the truck. He is kinda nervous cause the neighborhood around Atlanta downtown complex is NOT SO GOOD this late. Nothing else they can do except drop me off and get the hell out of there. So they do and I'm like well one more try to crank it. By the miracle of the gods it fires first crank. I'm out of there.

Needless to say that was the end for the alarm system. Took it to one of those local stereo alarm system guys and told them get that POS off my truck. 50 bucks he disabled it and now the truck never fails to crank.

Getting the Wheeling Fever
I found a site list nite said to splice starter wires tOgether and pull fuse.... Sounds too easy. This truck has been a nightmare...Installed tow bar in 100 degree 200% humidity Houston Saturday morning.truck sat for 6 years with out being moved. All 4 brakes stuck. Pulled it thru Houston with a tow bar in rain then on 300 miles to Arkansas at 50 mph..... Tires was slinging rubber and I Only had 2 spares. Got it home.... Back together and it wouldn't start. Took fuel pump out and it was a melted globular ethanol mess. Cleaned tank and new new fuel now no fuel injectors. Still feel like I got a gOod deal....104000 mile swb montero with new motor.now tO get this [censored] on the road. I'll ad pics when I remember how. Will motor have spark with no voltage to ECM?
