At 6-8 psi, no intercooler is necessary. That blower has the same internals as I have in the one from Magnacharger on my 3.0L..... it's an Eaton M62 series. It doesn't heat the air enough to worry about with the amount of boost in the kit or the one on my engine.

Would it be a little better with an intercooler? It might make a tad bit more power, but probably not much more. I thought about incorporating a water/air cooler in the discharge plenum just after the blower (aftercooler would be the correct term), but the benefit just isn't worth the trade-off in cost, design complexity and difficulty in take-down when you need to pull or work on an engine.

A serious fellow could probably talk me into selling my SWB for not too much more than the installed price of that kit. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/scared.gif" alt="" /> He could dang sure buy my engine, blower and computer for that price. Then I could build a 3.8 blower motor. It might be real tough on tires, though. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />
