Gen 1 v6 axle and ring gear are plenty strong and with a more powerful engine, the gen 2 SR is even bigger/stronger design. For the stock pose plant, the gen 1 rear drivetrain is plenty strong enough. Be sure to upgrade the trailing arms though.
