Nope it's not. From what we've been able to learn in over a decade of research is they're a Mitsubishi Gearset. No other vehicles use them.

That said IIRC the Gen 1 v6 is at least ~8.5" ring gear while the 3.5l Montero's a have a 9.5" ring gear.
