Can you weld to the easy out and get the hole opened up again? Then you can cut the bolt from the middle out wards. Will you be home Tuesday morning? Or leave your hood popped and I can drop buy with my makeup compact mirror and take a look? Pm my your address Jhonny. I'll be downtown that morning anyways.

I welded to the easy out and could not extract that, then welded to the bolt itself for extraction. Now that the bolt is solid again i could try the oxy/acetylene trick since there is no longer a hole but i'll need to buy some gas for my torches.
You could try a re-drill starting with a very small bit and stepping it up as large as possible then trying your sawing plan, if it's going to come out it will be in pieces or little slag balls.

I just got home from work and noticed that the hood to my '95 was latched shut. I left it popped per Motero's request so he could come take a look at it today. I looked under the truck and it sure looks like there are bits of the bolt and the broken off pieces of the E-Z Outs sitting neatly on a board. I think he got it! I'm going to have to get my self out there to have a better look, but if that's the case, I owe you a favor, Karl. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Hopefully I can run my tap in there and clean things up a bit and give assembly a try for once.
I love this board!

Dang Johnny, you drill like you drive. Crooked!
You had the easy out biting in to the crank. That is why nobody could turn it.
You have two roads now. Left road, clean the threads as best you can with a bottoming tap, Find a bolt that will work in place of the crank bolt that is 10mm longer. There are good threads behind the chewed ones. Right road, get Dylan to work his thread-sert magic.

Mo, straight drilling leads to unwanted pregnancies. Maybe there is method in Johnny's madness. In any case, you da man...

If there's any lesson to be learned here, it's: You don't want to have to do this job. Inspect, replace, update the Gen 2 crankshaft pulley/harmonic balancer bolt. Do not delay.
