My Nobel will have to wait <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" /> It's a strange system of employment in academia. They give you a job (great), leave you to it, then after 5 years force you to apply for promotion/tenure, but won't say exactly what you need to get it, then if they deny your application you're out <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/scared.gif" alt="" /> . If they accept it they give you a job for life. Hoping for the latter.

Right now I am working a lot writing grants (another messed up system) and getting publications out. I can breath again on August 16th next year when I hand over my absurdly gigantic document for promo/tenure.
