Body Damage is Cool
Thus my questions...

From RockAuto:

KYB Part # KG54302 Gas-A-Just Front $30.79 each
KYB Part # KG54303 Gas-A-Just Rear $34.79 each

KYB Part # 554091 Gas A Just; Monotube Front $82.79 each
KYB Part # 554092 Gas A Just; Monotube Rear $82.79 each

$30 dollar shocks are much more appealing than $82

Welcome to the 'wire! Seems the group has you sorted on your various questions.

If you're not doing anything over the new years holiday, maybe join a bunch of us in a drive down to Anza Borrego (east of San Diego) for my Hangover Avoidance 4x4 Run.

Hay, I wish I could join you for this one, but having just moved and being the new guy at work I get all the crap shifts, so Im working over newyears.
Next one?
I also think getting the rear Lug studs replaced sort of needs to be done before my next trip out. among other things.

Good evening everyone!

I have OME shocks. I love them and would buy them again and again.

Good health and spirits!

A point of clarification, OME is not the same as OEM. OEM is Original Equipment Manufacturer, referring to the factory parts. OME stands for Old Man Emu, an Australian company that makes some high quality suspension products for Monteros, among other vehicles.
If you want to go with the OEM adjustable shocks, you would need to order them from a Mitsu dealer at ~$1000.
A full set of OME shocks and 1.25' lifted rear springs will run you $500. Just crank your front torsion bars and drop some 33" tires on it and you're ready to tackle some rocks.

It appears that they now offer rear springs with higher load capacity for expedition -style 4 wheeling also.

Getting the Wheeling Fever
Update, with life and stuff haven't had much time, but headding out near death-valley for a week, next weekend so.
Changing the front and rear Differential oil, and the transfer-case oil as well. Which brought up the question of the rear dif being LSD or not, the conclusion after a few hrs of research was... Probably... and better safe then sorry, as putting in the LSD additive woln't hurt the rear diff, but if its needed its needed...lol

Front bull bar had a bolt missing so took the whole thing off and got things sorted and one less rattle!!

Rear shocks, got the KYB gas-a-just that were recomended...and in my price range. doing those, the rear dif and the transfer-case on Saturday.

Put some hose clamps on in place of those spring style hose clamps, I know I need to replace more hoses, but for the time being those should help.

Also got a can of Mass Airfow sensor cleaner and going to see if it does anything.

Oh, picked up a 48" High-Lift jack as well, got to figure out where to mount it, more research tomorrow.

Right, Gf says its bed time, signing off.
