Good day! Regarding your 4th concern. I mentioned the Old Man Emu shocks in an earlier post. I had OME heavy duty rear springs installed. It provided approx 1.5 inch lift in rear, although that was not my goal. No complaints. They are awesome

They are OME910. I have learned from these forums that are OEM [Mitsu parts]the best, but its a personal and $$$ choice. Enjoy your Monty.

Hi again all, Death valley was fun as always, almost got my self stuck a couple of times, and over all fun, replacing the rear shocks helped with the bottoming out, but didnt fix 100% probably going to get new oe rear springs.
though if I can talk my gf into letting me spend the extra $ maybe spring for the OME springs <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" />... any idea on the price for these, part # or sources?

Found a Yakima roof rack at the Mazda dealer, they had it up in there attic and sold it to me for $100, that made me happy.

Right on with the post.
Went to pick and pull and got parts a few weeks ago, busy schedule, so finaly got a chance on the long weekend.

Installed front skid plate, it was missing, probably because it didnt fit with the bull bar, had to bend the corners and remove the plastic grill.

Next was easy, had broken the visor clip, Ez is good some times.

Then the fun one, the driverside mirror, flopping around when ever I got up to speed... <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> I had picked up another mirror, first thing I discovered was that I had grabbed it from an LS, diffrent wiring harness, SR has heated mirrors...who knew... don't answer that... then opened it up, discovered that besides the different wiring harness the donor mirror also was broken in the same place... <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/drunk.gif" alt="" />
Ended up takine a small piece of metal and fabbing a clip to go over the broken part and then because the other side was cracked as well, made another clip to reinforce that side, put it all back together and, it actually seems to be working.

Working up to another trip out to DV this fall.

Going to have to pull the rear Axel's sooner or later, those lug studs arent going to fix them selves...
Ive searched, and havent found anything particular, is there a wright up or walkthrough on removing the SR's rear axel?
Or just do whats in the FSM?

Anyone in the Bay area up for lending a hand, will provide food and drinks, and return the favor when needed.

Yikes, transmission issues always scare me, well if you need an extra set of hands let me know, Im in the city, but would be happy to roll down and lend a hand.

It's common for the Gen II mirrors to break the mounting tabs off the back of the mirror glass - a common fix is to use hot glue or epoxy and just glue the entire mirror glass right to the mounting points on the motor. Both of mine have been fixed that way for years now.




If you have damaged wheel studs on the rear you're in for a treat. The ABS toothed ring blocks removal of the studs, so the axle has to be disassembled to change those studs. This involves cutting off the bearing retainer to remove the bearing, bearing housing, and ABS ring - machine shop work unless you've got a grinder and a press. Don't forget to order a new bearing retainer from Mitsubishi before you get started. The procedure is outlined in the FSM - it would be beneficial to print it out and give it to the machine shop that does the work for you, otherwise they'll treat it like it's a Toyota axle and start breaking things while trying to press it apart.
