So, I have a second spare tire, and I was thinking about strapping it to the bull bar, Its not the most hefty one in the first place... Well actually was thinking getting some all thread or maybe a U bolt or two and attaching it...

The concern I have is that the extra weight may tweek things in front, more on the washboard and wheeling then highway rolling... thoughts?

I can attach other pics of the front if that would help

I myself would not, not just because of the weight, but because of the blocked airflow to the radiator, a/c condenser and the oil and transmission coolers.

Thanx John B. I had had that thought as well, but, well that's what second opinions are for. Was sort of thinking that maybe the space the bar created away might be suficient but, better safe then walking...

It would block airflow and your view of the road. I say throw it on the roof or build a dual tire carrying rear bumper...

Isn't it amazing how freaking far you have to jack up the back end of the truck to get those old springs out? I was scared of using just my Hi-Lift because it was topping out, so I helped it with my engine hoist.

How's the ride?

Ya, jacking that sucker up wasnt so bad,
[Linked Image]

Getting the jack stands under with the tires off the ground...
[Linked Image]
all the way up on the one stand, the other was a bit lower because the garage slopes that way...
and the most fun for the day, taking the ?Putman, lateral brace? Annoying bar... wouldnt lign back up to get the bolt through...
[Linked Image]
Can you find all 3 jacks...

But the ride is NICE!
think it lifted the rear end up at least 3 inches, its firm with out being stiff.
Realy happy, and going to be even happyer when the @ss doesnt bottom out fully loadded.

leaving for death valley on friday.
