I just got the P0440 code a few days ago. But my Sporty has been sitting in the driveway for a long time, either being worked on or neglected because my wife just recently gave birth to our first child (a boy... still trying to figure out how to mount the kid's car seat on the cargo rack over the spare tire... ). On a whim, I threw a bottle of Lucas Fuel System Treatment in with a fresh tank of gas. Haven't had any problems for 80 miles of driving. And it seems to be running a bit smoother. I suspect my problem was just caused by the fuel getting a bit stale and everything settling in the system. That said, it's good to know about cleaning up the canister. I'll have to pull mine soon and give it a good inspection and cleaning, if needed. Thanks for the update!
