Long story short for those that know me here, I've blown out my fair share of 5sp manual transmissions, last year, I swapped in a V6 lockup unit into my turbo 4cyl SWB 86 (aka REDCAR).. it was a nightmare as for finding a good unit..

Took 3 swap outs in all to get a good trans/tcase combo.. but I was set.. LAST NIGHT.. in Gorman CA.. to watch the metor shower....

POOOWWWW! while going down a decent (4w-low) all 4 wheels locked up hard!! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/scared.gif" alt="" /> could not move..

I'm on a nice decent, but after some slamming of R-N-D-R-N ,etc,etc.. it broke free.. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/zombie.gif" alt="" />

but the t-case will NOT RELEASE OUT OF 2wd-low!! I had to drive home on the 5frw at 2am with the EMERG blinkers on in LOW RANGE <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

front hubs unlocked ofcourse.. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

anyways.. don't know why it jammed but this is my question..

I still have my original 86 5sp setup in the garage.. will my tcase bolt up to the v6 trans?

For some reason, I remember it being no, otherwise I would have done it during my original conversion.

But this junkyard T-case left me high and dry <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

WHAT WILL HOLD UP TO SOME TURBO POWER?? I'm tired of this!!
