Plan: 89 G54B Turbo Conquest Engine (4cyl) into a 4 Door 90 LWB
4cyl into 4Door

Hey I am starting working on my Montero I have a 4dr 90LWB auto I got from my brother after he swaped his 3.0v6 out of it into his newer Montero he got with a bad motor.
I had a SWB 89 Montero with a Starion Turbo Motor in it but the truck needed alot of work and I got rid of it but saved the engine!
Right now just down to test fitting and seeing what I will need. Need to get the Flexplate and tq converter all figured out and in, then work on modifying the mounts. So lots more work to do... and I am going very slow lol.

Thanks! Its been a Long time but miss driving the Montero. These Old Monteros have a lot of character that I think many newer cars lack. Love the upright driving position with great view, who cares about arrow dynamics!

A LWB with your turbo 2.6...hmmm. Michigan Motor Speedway video, please. Are you shooting for 14's? Now THAT would be something.

I still have the MonTurbo - Back at the Track video. Ain't nothing like seeing a Raider beat fast cars down a 1/4 mile.

Haa I dont have as much planed power wise, just ported everything non jet, and thinking of a few other things but nothing crazy. But.... I do tend to get carryed away lol. The monturbo was so much fun! Thats the main reason I want a second take at it:D
Lots of fun times with the old Monturbo, I think my most fun time was a race the on expressway with a 240sx to about 115 keeping up with him man where they surprised! of course with the gears i couldnt really go any faster.
This LWB has a LSD rear end so should have a somewhat advantage their as I shouldn't need 4wd to get a good launch. Of course it weights alot more then the SWB. so overall I dont think it will be as fast.

Added Pictures for OP, Still havnt decided on MPI or TBI.... Party becuse I have just a 12a turbo and MPI+12a= Uncontrollable fast spool up, which means terrible mileage and the turbo wont last long. Plus I only have one set of injectors ecu and fuel rail... but not that I say it doesnt really sound like that hard to switch it, but who knows I may like the montero more then the Starion :| I know my old monturbo was so fun... And lets face it a 4dr montero is alot more practical then the starion.
