Well If it doesn't misfire, why upgrade the ignition? As long as it sparks, it sparks, and your money could be better spent elsewhere. I did replace a failed starquest coil with an Accel Super Coil, and did away with the dropping resistor on the old coil. This puts full battery voltage to the coil in ign run.

The main goal is to make sure the old dizzy is working right. They tend to wear on the centrif advance, and at mileages over 100k, most often need new parts, and a thorough cleaning. The vac advance pots also often leak at higher mileages.
