More likely the plug for it has become disconnected. You get to take out the center console to get at the radio head. I've got to do it on my 99 Runner when it warms back up. Sure isn't as simple as the old Toys to get at.

Go to www.ncttora.com and find their FSM's, and you can get the how-to to get it taken care of. Small skinny screwdriver will be your friend, as well as some patience.

Take out the centre console? Why?

Here are the steps:
1: remove shifter surround (pop up and backwards) You dont have to take this out, just turn it sideways so you can get teh radio surround.
2: remove radio surround (push the vents to point down, grab the bottom of the vents and pull it straight out.
3: unplug all the connections
4: you MAY need to put the shifter into neutral to get the surround off completely.
Unscrew the 4 screws holding the radio into the truck, DONE.

You can check the connections, but you may have to strip it down to replace the bulb(s).

If you can get it, might want to buy a used one or install an aftermarket stereo as they don't come apart easy from what i remember...
