Ive seen people use them (youtube) on the mitsu 3000gt DOHC motor, i believe this carries over to the 3.5 SOHC.

Hopefully some of the experts will chime in to confirm or deny this.

Yeah this tool works nicely. I'm using the lisle copy of this tool on my miata.
Without a decent sized compressor I'm having to use the 'rope in the cylinder' trick to keep the valves from falling in.
