Put all 4 wheels in the air. Shift into 4wdlo. Hand rotate the front driveshaft and feel the front hubs lock up and feel for graunchy stuff as they do. You may have a bad hub lock. Also possible you have a bad front diff, badd cv joint, bad bearings, or bad transfer case, and hand rotation may reveal such.
