Contemplating installing one of 4crawler lift kits from the reading I've done it sounds like a relatively straight forward install.

But curious what needs to be extended when the kit is installed - brake lines, fuel filler hose, wiring, etc.... ?

Thanks for any insights.

~ Jon

Nothing needs to be extended but the brake lines do need to be 'adjusted' at certain points.

Have you checked the FAQ post for a thread on the procedure?

Did check the FAQ and read a couple of articles on the expedition portal but still find it hard to believe nothing needs to be extended .

I know you've had yours lifted for quiet some time. So, I'll take your word for it.

thanks,

~ Jon

Only thing I had to do was tweak the brake lines coming through the front fender wells and crank the torsion bars a bit to help with tire clearance. On the 'to do' list is to notch out part of the center console where the 4x4 shifter comes through to gain a little clearance. The bend in the shifter interferes a bit after the body lift. Took me about 1.5 hours start to finish by myself to do the lift. There is a brace in the middle of the truck underneath that I used a floor jack and some scrap wood to lift each side of the truck to install the lift blocks.

Body Damage is Cool
I had no issues when I installed mine - I only had to adjust the front hard brake lines where they pass through the front aprons,

Same thing Ryan said. No extra cutting was required.

Nice! smile

The install isn't bad at all. Just a bit time consuming. Take your time, have a beer and in a couple hours she'll be all set.

Thanks Sean!

Plan on setting aside a weekend to do the lift.

Anyone have any tips or tricks for jacking up the truck body?

Thanks ,

Jon
