I have an idea. How about pedestrians f-ing stay out of the street. That's what sidewalks are for. What about the annoying a--holes that walk right up the middle of the aisle in the parking lot so as to prevent you from going anywhere? They just deserve to be mowed down. Extra points for kids and old ladies.

I buy into the composite bar provided the structure and materials are suitable. I use plastics for many structures at work and have had terrific success. GM has gone as far as offering a 1pc plastic bed for their trucks.

Wow, I am very much enjoying this thread. Where to begin?

First, that plastic bull bar is redonkulous. The testing was at 20KPH, not MPH... Which is like a brisk walk or something... stupid Metric System.
Anyway, the only cool thing on that site was the picture of the Holden (I think) car/pickup thingy... I hope they bring that thing over like they're doing with the Pontiac GTO... for some crazy, irrational reason, I always liked the El Camino...
As for pedestrians... that's one of the main reasons I want a bull bar. Peds here in New York are bad on so many levels. You have the hippies, yuppies, etc. who view cars with disdain and think cities are only for people, so they step out in front of you. You have suicidal bike messengers (not too many anymore... thank god for the fax machine and email... put them all out of work! ) and in the not so nice area, you have people who a) hate people like myself and purposely walk in front of you or right down the middle of the street as some kind of a power trip (I hate to sound classist/racist... but it happens) and in the REALLY bad areas you have people looking to win what the cops call "the ghetto lottery." I've had people almost literally dive in front of my car, and it's worse when I'm driving the BMW (ditto to the other disclaimer in quotes).
I think a Bull Bar may discourage some of that, not to mention protect the front of my truck from the $#^@&@ing cabbies, who I don't even want to get started on!

Moving on. AZRAIN, great post... but I checked out your website... this is one of the best lines I've ever seen anywhere:

quote:
I enjoy hobbies as much as the next guy, including my wife,...

I've never heard anyone refer to their significant other as a hobby... but it's great and now on, I'm doing the same! Oh wait... never mind... I enjoy living!

Finally, God Bless any thread that somehow works in that classic of 1970's American Cinema... Death Race 2000. I bought a copy on DVD at Osco (a drugstore in Indiana) for $5.99, it's the perfect date movie. Then again... you better not listen to me, I once took a girl to see Army of Darkness on a first date and never heard from her again... still can't figure out why.
