I am replacing my plugs and found that one of those deep spark plug wells is full of oil. When I pulled the plug it looked normal and dry on the inside. Any thoughts as to where the oil came from?

OK. Thanks for the response. I guess I need to pull those covers now.

Felpor has a full kit for the 3.5 SOHCs that is the VC gaskets and the plug tube grommets.
And while you're doing all that, might as well fo the valve guide seals, and all the o-rings and grommets on the fuels rails / injectors.
And while your at that, change all the water line hoses and o-rings.
And of course new plugs and wires...

You may have a point on the valve seals. After trying about 5 different seal conditioners I found one that worked (no more smoke). But if I have to pull the valve covers, I guess I am pretty close to the valve seals.

Sure would be great if you could share that magical conditioner that worked, as i think alot of people have the smoke issue from leaky valve seals, and for me I simply dont have the mechanical nohow to do valve seals <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

I know that this is a really old post, but the stuff I use is Bardahl No-Smoke + Stop Leak. I get it a Walmart and I use 10w40. This combo has no smoke. I have tried 4 or 5 others and none worked until I tried this one.

Thanks for posting that. Do you recall the price? Just wondering since it's available online for ~$12 and with amazon prime, I can get it in just 2 days.
