install manual locking front hubs if you dont already have them, unlock them, obviously.

unbolt rear driveshaft, use safety wire to mount to underbody of truck and leave the front half in the transmission, or remove entirely and put a bag over the output of the transfercase and zip tie in place.

all of this will reduce drivetrain drag and prevent the transmission from having parts turning/wearing while towing.

once where you're going it's just 4 bolts to re-install the driveshaft and you're off.


What he said. Front hubs and 4bolts for rear u makes sense to me.
