On the magazine article, if there is any trails you specifically can think of that are important to you around the Sierras, lets talk about that while I am working on trail line up.
Maybe we could do a regular feature 3-4 times a year or so, something like the adventures of the Gear Box Grinders or something. Real world trail riding is what readers seek, yet rarely find in 4x4 magazines.(primarily due to cost)
LOVE IT.
I've also got an email in to John here at the Wire to discuss some future collaboration. The way I see it, we can all learn from each other. I bet there are as many people who think this hobby is guys in 6WD G-wagens drifting all over the place as there are people who think rally is all rich kids with Subarus drifting on dirt roads.
I'll make you guys a deal. If you help me with the kind of real world trail riding stories readers seek, yet rarely find, I give you my word I'll keep you in mind when (and if, these are tough times for 99% of us) fancy vendors approach me about testing/trying gear or whatever. And maybe, just maybe, I'll eventually get to the point where this will pay the bills and I can be the guy who asks if he can tag along if he brings a cooler full of bacon-wrapped filet mignon and a keg of Mountain Dew.
Hell. Maybe we can just do a special issue just for this trip, from the back stories influencing the planning today, to the preparation for departure in coming weeks, to the actual carnage on-trail, and a reflective look back at everything we learned, sell it, and split the proceeds 3-ways - everyone who goes on the trip, 4x4wire, and GBXM|united. We probably won't make enough to fill our tanks, but it's something, right?
Press on. I'm excited.
