So all the shops in town are telling me that my 95's rear rotors can't be turned. Not because they are worn to far or anything, just says in their manual that they are not serviceable. Has anyone else heard this?

They still have plenty of meat left on them and it seems silly to throw them out just because they have a little warp to them. And new centric rotors are 50 bucks each... compared to 15 each to turn a rotor.

Rear Brembos are $26.97/ea, and $50+ is free ground shipping. No sense turning for $15 when new ones are an extra $10. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

My Opel used to have two options for pads, abrasive and non-. The idea seemed to be to use the abrasive only for truing a warped rotor.

If you go buy a cheap set of new pads, then apply some self adhesive sandpaper to the elcheapos, then jack up the rear and lightly apply the brakes while driven by the engine. Quit when the chuff-chuff-chuff sound goes away.

I would anneal the disks first, perhaps relaxing some of the warp. This could be done in the home oven, given an absent or VERY understanding life partner...
