posted this over on expedition portal, thought i'd throw it up here too:

located in South Bend Indiana

I've recently found out that I'll be moving to Phoenix or nearby area in Arizona near the end of this year for work.

This is a bit premature and might change or I might get this thing up and running since it's not far off, but for now I thought I'd offer it up.

I've been slowly working on a solid axle swap for my 1997 Montero Sport, 3.0 automatic over the last few years, I have almost everything needed to make it a driving vehicle aside from the brakes, proper gearing and driveshafts

The truck was a running and driving truck on 32's until the day I decided to go solid axle, then I removed all the IFS stuff and started down this road.

specs:
dana 44 high pinion front
jeep 6 inch lift coils
ruff stuff coil brackets, link brackets, lots of stuff from ruff stuff
ballastic fab joints and some other parts and pieces
3 link front (not finished)
1 ton chevy steering, all brand new in box, not installed
stock AW4 trans with jeep NP231 t case, needs a slip yoke eliminator
ford 9 inch rear diff spring over rear
17 inch dodge wheels
37 inch BFG's

I'm sure there's a TON of stuff im forgetting, but this will get it started.

i suggest keeping it for wheeling with us when you get here, otherwise i'm sure someone here would buy it. Maybe me and PA_JERO will work something out for it. i'll talk to him and post up here in a bit.

I've got a 95 SR on 35's and an 87 SWB on 31's, both are ready to wheel.

You'll fit in just fine, then you can help me get into a mid 70's Galant. I found a nice one just on the other side of the CA border, but i don't know enough about them to just go and buy a random car especially at the price there asking.
This is the one i found but it's $1800, is that the going rate for one in this condition?

at 1800, if that thing runs and you dont snatch it up; you crazy!

What engine is is? 1.6 or 2.0?

feel free to shoot me a text or give me a call 269.357.4372 if you want to learn some on them, they're so simple, i drove my 73 from San francisco to indiana without a single hiccup. smile

Here's the ad 1976 colt

I asked PA_JERO to buy it and bring it home for me in trade for the '88 diesel that he loves but at the moment he's got a full plate trying to get his sport ready in time for the Sierras. I've got all my savings tied up in my '99 SAS, maybe it'll still be available after the Sierra Carnage.

if it's a 2 liter 5 speed (i see it's a manual, didnt say engine size) go buy it and drive it back! It's only a 5 hour drive and the 2 liter 5 speeds will go highway speeds no problem!

I'm pretty sure a GT would have a tach, but i know people with that dash and had a 2 liter 5 speed. only one way to find out, call, ask, go and buy.
