Just to add to this. For some reason on my IPad I cannot see any pics on older post. Just get a bunch of blue X symbols. This is more so on the page the Mitsubish tech. pagei

That's probably not just on your ipad. Have you checked for those pics on a PC? May simply be happening because the pics were originally stored on a picture hosting website & are no longer there.

As an example, hundreds of my old posts are like this because i used to use webshots.com. Unfortunately they went from a free picture hosting website to a pay hosting site and I wasn't willing to pay their monthly fees.

This is a VERY strong argument for hosting the pictures right here on 4x4wire by attaching them to your posts. See my vid for details.

thanks for all this help.
Next time I go the big town I'll try to hire another attractive young college girl at SLODonuts to help me. She'll have to be satisfied with just coffee and donuts.
I've printed this thread/instructions out for said youngster to read next time and hopefully all the right ?ULR? numbers are printed.
I'm able to work some stuff on the wire, at least the few things I know the jargan computer terms for. I preview my post, edit,,,but my linking ablity appearently doesn't exist. I'm leaving some step out <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> or typing the ?ULR? wrong,,,too many numbers or to few,,,and or in the wrong place. I've been typing(and linking I thought) in the "browse box" that shows up when you preview post. I went into Atascader this morning to the Library to print out the picture stored on photobucket so the ?ULR ? is printed on the paper. Same for the "Idler valve" post for said youngster to use. Also I actually can't see some ULRs, icons on these screens if they are pale colored(mild cataracts and Chemotherapy).
I'll try to accept my stupidity and tuck my tail between my legs in humility.
I'm a creature of the 3rd demention, appearently unable to adapt the 2nd demention as required to function for anything these days.
There is no intstruction available in my county for senior citizens and dumbasses like me.
I have a 14 year old L.T. and go out to the steps of Santa Margrita Library for wireless(open only 3 afternoons/week, with no printer avail). There are no wires for phone or cable at my cabin(as if my very fixed income would allow for such luxuries)( and , yes, there IS a 3rd world in America, esp. for some of us seniors and disableds).I frequently print out whole threads because of limited time at net, limited time my L.T. will run without locking up or crashing, and the screen is hard on my old eyes). You should see my boxes of printed ouit threads from past 10 years.
Thank <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" />you all for your patience and understanding, and tolerating my frustration and anger.

Dave, as far as I'm concerned, you have nothing to apologize for. I repeat, I've never gotten a picture to post.

I like having you on this forum - you are a contributor, not a user. You dig into something until you understand it and then you fix it.

And you have a dog named Dog, that you run a fan for in the car...

thanks man <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" />
and thanks for all that help on my idle problem, I'm just a little too thick for visualizing what you were discribing, I have to take things apart. I had no idea--"that gizmo"--that is not pictured or feferred to in any F.S.M., was in there.
Oh and the Dogs real name,,,get this (the poor overly anthopomorphized beast)...
Loco Lobo KBHR 57 am,,,is his licenced name. Royal long name done in jest of dog show folks. He's a Husky mutt that my daughted found, now 15 years ago. I was watching TV,(drueling over Janine Turner,)watching "Northern Exposure" when she brought him home. The Krazy (Loco) thing wouldn't leave me alone and kept standing up like a bear (K-BKR) in front of the TV.
Someday, I hope to get pics. of my dog , Raider and dog cooling fan on here some day. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/patriot.gif" alt="" />

Guys:

I realize the photo upload is clumsy. However, I have been experimenting with several options.

It comes down to photos are easier to store in a 3rd party server and link them into a post.

I do have a Flickr account for 4x4wire that I have used periodically.

Also, check the bottom of the screen for the "I want to preview my post and/or attach a file"

With that block checked, the next screen display will provide the option of browsing local to select a file.

That file is not displayed within the post. There is a message at the top alerting you to the fact there is an attachment.

That said, I am working on an update to the forums which will allow a better image posting ability.

You can see a version at:

www.laurynashleyperformancehorses.com

or

www.outdoorwire.com

Both sites are running the new version of the forum software. I have been swamped with a range of issues lately that have delayed my planned forum update.

I will be back home within another week and hopefully get the update back on track.

I made a couple more comments/ attemps on my "idle air valve post ,,,but I shouldkeep this over on this thread.
Ray, yes I read that,,,thanks.
I preview my post.
In the browes box, I see the blinking verticle line where the letter should appear,,,but the letters don't when I type.
Browes opens a box on my LT. ,,,but I don't know what that is. Maybe thats the <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> link thing???
It lets me type the imagage ULR thing there but that's only stored on my desktop so nothing happens other than something like "imagage not found or unavailable" <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/scared.gif" alt="" />.

I just notice the blue lettered linky thing in your post. I clicked it and watched your youtube. Thank you. Maybe I can go to a computer shop around here and pay them to do that.Students are all down the mtn. from me,,,next months gas budget.
I personally will never be able to pull that off.
You see you must have good knowlegde of computers , terminology , memory..... and have no ADHA/dylexia or any other mental defect like I appearently do. To those 35 and younger , I'm sure this is no more complicated than tieing your shoes, and probably can't understand how I could be so stupid.
I'll stick to wrenching.
If anybody in the future needs to see this gizmo I'll email it to them.

or
look on my FB ,,,at least I got my pics of all my wrenching and trips on there.

The Picture is NOW on as an Attachment in the 1 st post of the Idle Valve thread.
A computer repair dude came into Starbucks and did it as attachment for me.
Sorry I couldn't do in as a picture in the thread,,, too complicated a process for me.
I hope this the attachment photo helps out someone and keeps Monteros out of the crusher.
This here Neanderthal finds computers more intimidating than a Mastodon!
