I ordered a new temp gauge on line and figured that I would put it in place of the inclionmeter. Lose a little bit of cool factor but the new gauge has some cool factor to it.

I am going to try what you suggested and see if I can just use a jumper wire and see if it works. If it does I may just rewire the existing one and have two.
