Well I have a brother that runs a local yard and he has three montys sitting in the back. I have a great 3.0 90. But he has a 89 diesel and two 90 3.0s. So first choice is 4cil diesel or LWB 3.0. All need rebuilds, having 2ea 3.0 90s would have all the parts needed to make one perfect (one has OME kit with T bars. The 89 is stock but looks better overall. So that is stage one. Then the rebuild. So engine rebuild kits and difficulty plus ease and power after rebuild. I have rebuilt 2ea turbo Supras' so I know I could handle the rebuild. but I am stuck on what type I want. I guess this is a good problem to have. I am leaning towards the diesel because I already have a mint 90 3.0 but I love it so much I want another for cross-country. Crap, my wife will only let me have two bays in the garage or I would get all three. I have 7 more days to decide before he drains them and they get vultured. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

well the diesels are no power houses sure there are a few things that can be done to squize out a little more power. all in all i rebuilt my 2.3 for about 2 grand 700 for the pump and injectors, 500 for shop and another 500 for parts. and well the other 300 in a little things. lol but i do enjoy it and its different. it wont win a race off the line but drive nice and has plenty of go on the road. iam sure i can to some tweaking with the pump to get a little more out of it

so if you read the other post i have a strange noise from the rear lsd. but today took it for the first trip on the freeway the little 2.3 td is a little slow off the line but once underway and under boost she moves pretty good. i have never driving a gen 1 swb with the v-6 just the 2.6 so its my only comparison . although i got off topic. i blew the heater block out of the hole. i think do to old radiator cap. pulled off and checked. it made a good pop when it let loose and called for the durango to tow her home and qiuckly fixed the problem new cap and soild plug

Yeah, these things are slow but move pretty good once into boost. Pretty fun dieseling around, even if i drive it wide open everywhere i get about 22mpg in town. It's better if i drive it nice best i've done is 24mpg in town, on the highway doing 65-70 i got about 22mpg. It would probably do great if i drove 55 on the highway, i think much past that it starts to drink diesel.
