An inexpensive option for your lift would be to install aftermarket rear springs (I think I've read Gen2 LWB springs will also work), and crank the torsion bars up front. This is what I had done on my '91. I had 32's on that truck.

His is an 87 which has leaf springs which came with all 4 cylinder gas models so a gen II spring setup won't work since the gen II's are all coil sprung. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

Are there add-a-leafs or drop shackles for those? I know there's something, there are a few people here w/ suspension lifts on Gen 1 4-cyls (JohnnyBfromPeoria was one I think?).
