Well, I got the little beast runnning and after sitting for three or four years, it purrs like a kitten..amazing what a tune-up and a little Marvel Mystery Oil can do! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" /> So I'm working on brakes and shocks...the rear drum on the driver side was locked up where brake fluid saturated the shoes and caused the linings to swell and stick against the drum. Problem is, to get it off, I had to pry hard to get the drum off, and I mangled the flimsy lip of the dust guard (?) that covers the inner edge of the drum..is that a necessary piece or can I grind the spot welds off the backing plate where it attaches and remove it completely?

If it ain't broke don't fix it...but for the love of god, if it's broke, fix it before you break something else! --PCM
