The flimsy stuff is for water spray deflection. As long as you have not damaged the backing plate...

Back plate is ok! So hopefully all good then...

I have them on my shopping list! I figure fix it first, use cheap parts house parts for now so I know I have all mechanical stuff right. Then when I start modding ill know if something isn't right it won't be because of an already defective stock part I failed to notice or replace...been through that with my hotrod truck...completed mods and it didn't ride or act right and couldn't figure out why, and it turned out to be faulty stock parts causing the problem, not the mod...I hate second guessing myself..gonna take the longer road and make sure its done right!

Dude, if you have not opened those shocks I'd take them back. I'll send you the ones I bought if you pay for shipping......... They have 10 miles on them before I took them off. Theoretically they'll be better than nothing, but that isn't saying alot based on what these guys are saying. My $500 Raider has some old KYB shocks on it, and I am *shocked* at how well it handles even at speed taking turns WAY faster than I should be. Best handling truck I've owned yet, and that's with high mileage and a worn ball joint and TRE. Imagine if I tightened up the front end some! Don't mess around with those- just get the KYB's and don't look back. You'll save yourself time and money in the long run.

A properly set up Raider corners like crazy. Very confidence-inspiring.

I've put polyurethane bushings in a couple of my SWB's, in the front sway bar connectors, and one truck had them in the rear shackles (all six points).

Watch the idler arm, buy a lifetime warranty one at a chain store and change it out yearly. I do that now on my '95, but I replace the idler, Pitman and all four tie rods. Only costs me $60 for an alignment...why not.

The biggest difference, especially in a SWB, is the shocks. Or should I say, the rails it seems to put the car on.
