Getting the Wheeling Fever
I'm looking for a noise filter, for the 12v 3.0 V6. This is the small, gold colored rectangular part, with two connectors that's bolted next to the condenser on the ign. coil bracket. If you have one, please let me know!

It's not available from what I understand.
Maybe an electronic guru could figure this one out and find something that would work.
The wire to the tach passes thru that gizmo and it has a resistor in it for "exess charge" to induct over to ground.
My wires cracked off both those gizmos that I think only are needed for radio noise. I can't here my radio while driveing,,,so I eliminated both of them years and years and many miles ago. Your truck will run fine without them.
You just need a soldering gun.

I only really want to get my tach to work, I can get an aftermarket filter for the radio. Did you just splice the two connectors together?

I'm trying to recall...
I replaced all the wireing at the coil pack area cause it was all old and cracking. Those plastic terminals are gone on mine and I'll hve to look a my FSM wiring to tell you how to do what I did.
I think there are 2 wires into the rectagular one,,correct?
If you can just cut at the filter and solder those 2 together. It's not alot of wire to work with and hard to even wrap tape around so paint it with liquid wire after you solder. Its a W-L colored wire from the plug to the tac as I recall, but wires are different going in and coming out of that plug. I drew up a diagram of the wiring plan I wanted to do before I went to cutting. I still have that in a pile of papers at home. (I have to go out for wireless)

I have several coil pack/power transistor units in my stores. They are all still mounted to the mount plate with the condenser and noise filter youre referring too.

Ive only bench tested a few power transistors in the lot before, never the filters. I could send 1, 2 or more of the noise filters - but I cant really vouch for their condition until I look through the manual and see if there's an ohm/resistance check that can be done on the bench for these.
