Ended up tearing the gasket as it seems there was RTV on both sides of it. Looks like I'll be dropping the oil pan. Did I read somewhere the front diff has to be dropped to get the oil pan out? Really hoping not to have to do that, but if it comes down to it I will. All this to replace an oil pump!
